Join Dynamo!
Do you want a different and unique year? Get leadership training, get to know yourself, your faith and your fellow human beings better? Do you want to know what it's like to work as a child and youth worker? Get 60 credits? With us - which is part of the vocational school Frelsesarmeens offisersskole AS - you get to try your hand at practice.
Dynamo gives you a unique year where you as a student are challenged, get tested in many different situations, have new experiences and get to know different parts of the Salvation Army.
You will receive good teaching and exciting practice in various places, with a focus on what it's like to work as a child and youth worker or with diaconia in the corps (the Salvation Army's local church) and in other church contexts.
The team is based in Teisen in Oslo, and there will be several trips taken in the year to gain more experience in a variety of places.
What you will learn
Dynamo is a one-year course in Christian faith and service.
Throughout the year you will receive instruction in leadership, pastoral care and diaconia, children's and youth work, Bible and faith teachings and the history of the Salvation Army. You will also have your own mentor with whom you will talk every other week.
For much of the year, you will receive significant practice. As a Dynamo participant, you can try your hand at various parts of the Salvation Army's great work.
The study is approved for loans and scholarships in the Norwegian Lånekasse, and completed courses provide 60 credits.
We have ongoing admissions for the academic year 2026/2027.

New Dynamo leaders
Benjamin Waters was raised in the Salvation Army. For the past 4 years, he has run the youth club #Basement, as well as confirmation teaching in the Templet corps, and finds few things as fun as working with young people. In addition, he serves as vice-chairman of the FAbU board, while also currently completing a master's degree in teaching. Benjamin will finish it this summer, so he can finally spend his time on all the other things he also enjoys, such as gaming, film, and even more FAbU work!
Benjamin is joined by Reuben Petersen-Scott, who has already been with Dynamo a few years earlier. Like Benjamin, Reuben also grew up in the Salvation Army. Before moving to Norway to participate in Dynamo, he was involved in his local corps, where he led children's clubs and contributed to the worship team. He moved to Norway to join Dynamo 2021–22.
After he got married and moved to Norway full-time, he helped with the Dynamo team 22–23 together with Tonje.
From the summer onwards, he will be back with Benjamin to give you the best Dynamo experience you can get!
